Psalm 20:6-7 (NIV)6 Now this I know:
The Lord gives victory to his anointed.
He answers him from his heavenly sanctuary
with the victorious power of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
God commanded the Kings of Israel not to take many horses or chariots to themselves (the tank of the day), because they would put their trust in them instead of the Lord. It is easy to trust in a job, education, the government, military, medicine, or whatever else, but all these things will pass, but God’s word never passes. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (NIV)17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. What we see as monumental God sees as light and momentary. When we keep our eyes on God instead of our own strength or the strength of others, then God will intervene and save us from whatever we need saving from. The battle belongs to the Lord.
