Matthew 6:31-34 (NIV) 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
I been told that 92% of the things we worry about never come to pass. Worrying never helps a problem, but it can make you sick. It is no more than fear of what we do not know. On the other hand faith in God is based on what we do know. God’s character is unchanging and when we know Him we know He will never forsake us or leave us. Beethoven continued to write symphonies after he became deaf even though he could not hear the music he knew what it sounded like. That is knowing. Who or what do you know best; the storm like Peter or Jesus? To rise above the storm you must seek Him with all your heart and then you will know him. Don’t seek Him like a child and say; “I can’t find it.” No we seek Him until we find Him. Seek Him with bull dog tenacity. Pastor Jeff Lane
