Isaiah 29:16 (NIV)
16 You turn things upside down,
as if the potter were thought to be like the clay!
Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it,
“You did not make me”?
Can the pot say to the potter,
“You know nothing”?
Most people like to make their god in their image. They give him human attributes and failings. Just as they compare themselves with others so to justify their failings they make a god that is imperfect for their self justification. Just by the very definition of god he is perfect and we are made by him not the other way around. We must measure ourselves to him not the other way around. I don’t want a god that is in a human image, but one that I can look up to. It is that god that gives me hope and hope will not disappoint us. Hope is the foundation of faith, and faith will turn to substance. It is that substance that delivers me from my circumstances. God said we are made in His image, but became corrupt, and that He provides a way not only to be reinstated, but we can be lifted to a higher position with Him. We can be like Him once again, and fellowship. Why would one want what he already has? Pastor Jeffery Lane
