2Corinthians 11:13-15 (NIV)
13 For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. 14 And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. 15 It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
Scripture teaches us that satan is a deceiver a fallen angel. He comes as an angel of God with all his beauty. Scripture teaches us he is the most beautiful of God’s creation, so he comes appealing to the senses. He looks like God, feels like God, tastes, smells, and most of all sounds like God. (Sounds like a politician) Satan comes in pomp and circumstance, but God comes to us in humility. Satan promises us the world, but takes our world. God gives us Himself and eternal life. Scripture tells us to tests the spirits to see if they are from God.
1 John 4:1 (NIV)
4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
