Judges 16:22 (NIV)
22 But the hair on his head began to grow again after it had been shaved.
Samson was a Nazirite. This is a person who has made a vow to God. The vow consisted of three things; one could not cut their hair, no alcohol, and no contact with the dead.
Samson fails God and his enemy shaves his head. Samson loses his strength, but in time his hair begins to grow back and he has a mightier victory at the end of his life than the beginning.
Samson problem is he see his strength coming from his vow (his works) not God’s grace and his relationship with God. As time passes his hair begins to grow or his relationship with God changes, grows, and he has a whole new understanding of God.
God wanted Samson heart not his scarifies. Do you feel you have failed God, got your hair cut? He knew you would, like everyone else, so He poured out His grace so that you might have a relationship with Him that could grow. Not because of what we have done, but because of all He has done.
