Isaiah 40:29-31 (KJV)
29) He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. 30) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: 31) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
It does not matter whether young or old there are times in life we grow tired and frustrated. We feel as though we can’t go on or even why go on. We begin to look inward instead of outward.
Suicide or to just give up, to me, is the ultimate act of selfishness. It is when one only looks at their life not how their loss would affect others; spouse, children, friends, relatives, or anyone might have connection to.
The damage that it caused reaches over generations. God tells us to wait upon Him and He will renew our strength. This wait is not a McDonald’s kind of wait. Here is my order now I will wait while you deliver.
It is more like waiting tables in a restaurant. It means to be active in waiting. Jesus says “Whatever you do for the least of these you do for me.” It is to look outward and live to serve God and man. Pastor Jeffery Lane
