Devotional June 2nd Life

Luke 12:15 (NIV)

15 Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.”

Luke 9:23-25 (NIV)

23) Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 25 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?

There seems to be this victim mentality going around. I am not happy because… God tells us to find life we must lose it. What did He mean?

If you are waiting for more money, the right person, or someone to change, all I have to say is good luck with that. Circumstances always change in life and even if you get one of these things they will change and your happiness will be short lived.

It is not up to someone else to make you happy. It is up to you. To find your life you must decide to give it away. Invest it in others and no matter their response keep doing it.

You will find fulfillment. Don’t wait till your paid to do the right thing, do it and it will return to you.

Winston Churchill said; “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.”
