Devotional July 6th

Revelation 21:3-6 (NIV) 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”

5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”6 He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life.

I have listen to politicians talk of a new world order and making things better in this world, but it seems the more they do the worse it gets. You can make all the laws you want, but you can’t make people good. You can’t stop death, dying, pain, sickness, abuse, or any other woes of the world.

You may slow them but they will happen. As hard as man tries to play God he is still a creature of sin. He can’t fix himself. There will be a day that God intervenes and will make all things new again. Oh what a day that will be, but in the mean time we have a deposit of His spirit reminding us that His word will be fulfilled. This life is but a breath, and all things will pass, eternity with Him has no end.
